Today is the big day for Ozzfest tickets. I got my code a couple of days ago, and was all ready to get my tickets at 7:00 sharp. But things didn’t work out.

I got on the site right at 7:00, but the form I had to fill out was lacking one of those little captcha-type validation boxes. I tried to go on without it but kept getting an error message. I thought maybe it was a Firefox thing, so I opened up IE to give it a try. But by that point everybody and their brother was trying to get tickets, and the connection kept being reset.

I finally managed to get on and in line. Then I waited on the Ozzfest tickets forever, only to end up being booted out of line. WTF??? As you can tell, I’m not having a happy night. :(

My only consolation is that I probably wouldn’t have gotten to go to Ozzfest anyway. Hubby hates crowds, but he said he would go anyway. But when the time came to go, he probably would have weaseled out of it.

The past couple of weeks have been a wild ride. I’ve had more work than I can handle. And my computer hasn’t been very cooperative either. See the previous post for details on that.

I’ve finally worked through all of my backlog of projects. I hope so anyway- there are a couple that may still be subject to edits. Now that I don’t have so much to do, I don’t know what to do with myself.

I’ve been out all morning trying to get a few things done, only to get back home and realize that there were more things I needed to do. Oh well. They can wait until tomorrow. I’m not driving all the way back to town now that I’m here. Besides, I’ve go housework and small writing projects that are not going to do themselves.

At least my work schedule has become more… workable. The only problem is that since I have been having trouble getting a babysitter on occasion, they have been scheduling me on almost all of Hubby’s days off. That works out quite well on the babysitting front, but Hubby doesn’t like not getting to spend any time with me. I’m not crazy about it either. But there is an end in sight- I’m still planning on quitting before summer is over.

I’ve been browsing laptops for a week or so now. Hubby has offered to buy me one, and I’m not going to turn him down. I can definitely use a new computer, and a laptop would be awesome.

I would like to know that I’m getting the best possible product for my (well, Hubby’s) money, though. So I’ve done some shopping around, and I’m not done yet. CouponChief has tons of online coupons, so they were one of the first sites to cross my mind.

And guess what? They’ve got some really awesome HP coupons. There is one that was added today for $200 off on a customized notebook. Consider it bookmarked.

I found out today about a subscription service called Writer’s Market. I had heard of their books, but didn’t know that they had a subscription service until visiting their website. I poked around for a bit and found out that they have a thirty day risk-free trial. So I signed up.

I gained access instantly, and proceeded to see just what they had to offer. But I couldn’t find anything for web content writers. I’m capable of doing other types of work, but web writing is what interests me right now, and what I have experience in.

Has anyone out there used Writer’s Market? If so, I would love to know if they have anything worthwhile to offer me. I know I’ve got thirty days to find out for myself, but I would like to hear some opinions if possible.

Have you seen those news video feeds that are popping up on blogs lately? I have, and I’ve watched the videos on a couple of occasions. Little did I know that I was putting money into the pocket of the blog’s owner, and that I could easily be making money the same way!

A website called The News Room is providing bloggers and webmasters with a great new way to monetize their sites. You simply sign up, choose a news topic that fits well with your site, and paste the code. Your visitors get a wide variety of videos to choose from, adding valuable content that will keep your visitors interested. And you make money each time someone views a story on your site.

The News Room is easy to use- I literally signed up and posted the video feed on my blog in less than five minutes. See the bottom of my blog for the result. I’m not done playing around with it yet- I may decide to switch to one of their many other topics, and maybe change the placement for easier viewing. But I can’t wait to see how profitable it proves to be. The payouts are higher than any other CPM program I’ve seen, and there are numerous other benefits available.

If you’re looking for fresh, new ways to monetize your blog or website, you should absolutely check out The News Room. Signup is free, getting started is a breeze, and the moneymaking potential is great.

Although it may not be apparent by reading my blogs, I’m still alive and kicking. I’ve just had so much on my plate that I had to take a break from blogging. But I can never stay away too long. :D

I’ve had some big writing projects to contend with lately, and have even had to push some of them aside. I hate to, but between the abundance of work, my day job, Pumpkin, and the unusual amount of company Hubby and I have had lately, something had to give. There’s only so much of me to go around, and so many hours in a day.

I’ve got writing that I should be doing right now, but I thought I had better post on my blog so it didn’t feel neglected and run away. ;) I guess I should get to work now, but I’ll be back around once I dig myself out of my pile of work.
