Today was my last day at my day job. I’m officially a full-time work at home mom! :) :) :)

I’ll miss a lot of people there, but I’ll be back around to see them. I’m thrilled that I’m going to be making a living from home, and if all goes as I think and hope it will a better living than I’ve been making working outside the home. I’m glad that I’ll be able to go to work without using any gas and will be available any time my daughter needs me. And I’m grateful that I will have the ability to set my own schedule and be able to spend more time with her and Hubby.

I’m also quite thankful that today was in fact my last day. The restaurant I was working at started each weekly schedule on Tuesday, and my notice actually was up tomorrow. But I was hoping that they would just not bother putting me back on the schedule for one measly day, and they didn’t. That means I have tomorrow to finish up Pumpkin’s school shopping and spend a little time with her. She goes back to school on Wednesday, so I can definitely put that extra day to good use.

Wish me luck everyone! And if you need any writing done, I’m available! ;)

I know what you’re probably thinking right now: What the $#@! is a Thoof, and why should I care? My thoughts exactly, until I finally decided to learn a little about it. Now I’m glad I did.

Thoof.com is a website that delivers personalized news with very little effort on your part. All you need to do is sign up and visit, and you’re presented with a page full of news stories and blog posts for your perusal. All you have to do is look at the ones that interest you, and Thoof learns from your choices. If you end up looking at something that doesn’t interest you, just click the appropriate link and it will disappear from your listings, and Thoof will adjust future listings accordingly.

But wait, there’s more. You can submit your own posts and get a nifty little Thoof badge to put on them which will showcase your post’s rank. Using these features can help drive quality traffic to your blog. Cool, huh?

Thoof is a whole new concept in personalized news, but it seems to be really taking off. Whether you just love the concept of having the news you want delivered to you with no fuss, or you have a blog that you need to promote, it’s well worth having a look at.

Hubby went to the doctor yesterday. The doc gave him the thorough going-over that they didn’t bother to do at the ER. He said he had two separate problems: Pulled muscles and gastritis. The pulled muscles were not a big surprise, and the gastritis makes sense given the other problems he has been having.

The doctor told him to switch from Aleve to Tylenol for pain, and to start taking over the counter Zantac or Prilosec. He’s still feeling pretty bad, and he’s agreed to take it easy for the rest of the week. I couldn’t stop him from mowing his grandparents’ yard today, but at least that’s the most strenuous thing he’s done in the past few days.

The gastritis is more or less the beginnings of an ulcer, so it’s certainly not something to be taken lightly. But at least it wasn’t something that will require surgery or have him down for an extended period of time. At least we hope not.
