I felt horrible when I went to bed last night. Well, actually it was early this morning. But on top of all the other lovely sinus infection symptoms I was experiencing, I started coughing. I searched the medicine cabinet for some cough medicine, to no avail. So I just went to bed and hoped for the best.
Fortunately I didn’t cough much overnight. But as soon as I got up this morning, it started again. Hubby was home from work today because of the snow, and he was all concerned. You’d have thought I had mesothelioma or something. But honestly, I was feeling much better than I have in several days. Now if the cough and phlegm and snot would just all go away, I would be as good as new.
I’m still debating on whether to take the steroids or not. They always make me feel horrible when I take them. But I do think a lot of my problem is inflammation, and that’s what the doc prescribed them for. Hubby picked them up for me, so maybe I’ll give them a try. If it takes feeling like crap for a while to get better in the long run, I suppose it’s worth it.
At any rate, at least I’m on the mend. It has been a long time since I had a sinus infection this bad, and I hope it’s a longer time before I have another one.
Last week, before I started feeling so horrible, I decided to clean out my office. I was working on the taxes and needed to find some old bank statements, so I figured it was as good of a time as any to do it. After all, I’d be rifling through everything anyway.
It took several hours, but I finally got just about everything that doesn’t belong in here out. I’ve filed all of the bills and papers that were lying around (well, except for one pile on my desk that I missed, but I’ll get to that). Now I just need to get all my pictures up on the walls, and it will almost look like a real office.
I found a bunch of stuff that I had completely forgotten about. One of the things I found was a six-pack of lilac candles. They smell awesome, and they’ll look great in my votive candle holders. I also found some of my clothes that should have been in the closet, and some knives that Hubby didn’t even know he had.
Now, all I need is my new computer to make it complete. I’m counting the days until the tax refund gets here and I can get it!
The past week has been miserable for me. I’ve had a sinus infection, and it has really gotten me down. One day I spent half the day in bed because my face was in so much pain, and just about every day I’ve had to take a nap or two (or maybe three) because I’ve just felt so dragged out.
I went to the doctor on Thursday, and he gave me some antibiotics. He also called in some steroids and told me to get them if I wasn’t feeling any better in a couple of days. A couple of days went by, and I was feeling worse than I did to start with. So I called the pharmacy and told them to go ahead and fill them. But I didn’t feel like going out yesterday, and today we got enough snow to keep me at home. Maybe tomorrow.
My knees have been giving me trouble too, but I could live with that if this blasted sinus infection would let go. If someone came up to me right now and offered me a jar of Super Cissus (for joint pain) or something that would knock the infection for a loop, I’d definitely have to go with the latter.
I just hope that this round of antibiotics does the job. We are now officially without health insurance, so my days of going to the doctor any time I need to are over.
