Sorry to hear that. :( Hope things get better for ya.

The party is a promotional thing for Oscar Mayer hot dogs. It's through HouseParty.com. They send selected hosts party packs that include coupons for the host and guests, party favors and other cool stuff, and all they have to do is agree to have the party on a certain date (but you can reschedule if necessary). Click the link to visit the website, and if you see any upcoming parties that interest you, apply to host one!

Kristy, Well the new water heater is a goner!! We are heading out today to find another one. It's been a little overwhelming lately, but we're doing OK. Thanks for the good wishes.

BTW, what is an Oscar Mayer party??

Whoa! And I thought we were having a hard time! Best of luck to you getting everything fixed.

I just found out that our basement drain is still clogged up pretty badly, and at the same time that I'm definitely going to need a new washer. But hey, it's not raining today. That's something to be happy about. :)

I am with you on the rain . . . we recently had to move back to a vacant property that we owned after we failed to sell it last year. Last August someone burned down our barn; then between August and October some time a racoon took up residence in the attice; in October we returned to do some cleaning and even though the water had been turned off for the winter, we had to turn it back on to clean up the racoon doo doo, and then we forgot to turn it off again; in December the pipes burst and flooded the basement all the way up to the rafters . . . but since we were not living here we didn't know it for a l-o-n-g time and it flooded the first floor bedroom and ruined the w/h and furnace (only 3 years old) in the basement and cost us $250 for a monthly water bill. Good news is that the racoon drowned :). After we moved in to the house in February, the torrential rains started and we nearly lost the $550 water heater we had just put in (haven't bought a new furnace yet). A couple of times that scenario happened where the pump couldn't keep up and water whoosed in from the crawlspace bringing mud and water with it (woke up to the dreamy sounds of a waterfall in the basement). A couple nights ago, that happened again and the pump came disconnected and I think the w/h is gone again . . . another $550!!

Now, I'm not even discussing the electrical problem or the yard. But I am OK with it because we are getting things done a little at a time. But I am ready for the rain to slow down, too. Maybe then we can get a chance to do some landscaping and get the water to stop flooding the crawlspace and then the basement . . . and the insurance company said they would pay us for doing debris removal on the barn if we did it ourselves, which we have to fit in there somewhere before the end of August.
