Hi, my name is Kristy and I’m your friendly WAHM blogger. If you’re reading this page, you probably want to know a little about me and my blog. So here goes:

I live in the mountains of North Carolina with my husband (affectionately referred to on this blog as Hubby) and daughter (aka Pumpkin). I grew up in Virginia, but was working in this area when I met Hubby, and the rest is history.

I began a quest to start working at home back in 2003 (I think). I was a stay-at-home mom at the time and wanted to contribute to our finances without having to send my baby girl to a sitter or daycare every day. But shortly after I started looking for things to do from home, Hubby lost his job and we entered something of a downward spiral. We lost almost everything, including my Internet connection, and I had to put my plans on hold indefinitely.

Hubby got back to work within a few months, only to lose that job several months later. He got injured and was unable to work, so I rejoined the workforce. He got back to work again a few months later, and we started doing well. But I still wanted to work from home and be my own boss. I put up with it for two years before I decided it was time to try again.

I quit my job to try to get started working from home once again. That time around I already had a couple of websites, and I hoped to bring in enough with them to support us. But that didn’t work out as planned, and we were barely scraping by on what Hubby made, even though his job paid reasonably well for this area. So I once again went back to work.

Several months later I heard back from a freelance writing job I had applied for, and that got me started looking for more of the same. I got two steady writing gigs, and began to bring home a decent income from them. I was apprehensive about quitting work again, but they say the third time’s a charm. So I quit work once again, and hopefully I won’t be going back this time.

I started this blog during that last turbulent period when I was transitioning back to work again. I did it to share my experiences with other moms who are in the same boat as myself, as well as to make some money with blog advertising. I’m not doing quite as much of the advertising anymore, but I’m still boring people to death with stories from my so-called life.
