I’m the world’s worst dancer, and I know it. I did some clubbing in my younger days, but I would never get on the dance floor. One of my best friends kept begging me to get out there and dance, and one night I finally gave in. In less than a minute, she was begging me to stop.
Still, I’ve been known to break into a happy dance every now and then. I think there’s something inside everyone that just makes them want to move when they’re happy or excited. Snuggle and the hit show So You Think You Can Dance realize that as well, and they’ve taken the opportunity to ask contestants and viewers to show the world their happy dances.
So what does this mean to you? Well, it means that you can make a video of yourself doing a happy dance, upload it, and possibly win a trip to Los Angeles for the season finale of So You Think You Can Dance! Afraid of making a fool of yourself? Don’t be. Check out this guy, who fell flat on his butt and still won week one:
Snuggle is a perfect sponsor for this contest. They’re launching the new Snuggle with Fresh Release, a fabric softener that keeps your clothes smelling fresh all day long. If that doesn’t make you feel like doing a happy dance, I don’t know what will.
So you think you can do a happy dance? Well, head on over to the Happy Dance Contest page, check out the rules and guidelines, and start taping! You could win a trip to L.A. or other great prizes! And if you just can’t bring yourself to show the world your happy dance, at least go check out the other videos. There are some real gems.

Hubby, Pumpkin, Hubby’s cousin, his daughter and I are going to see wrestling tonight. Not WWE or anything like that, just mostly local people. But the Boogie Woogie Man and Kid Cash are going to be there.
Hubby and I went to where they’re having it to give his brother some money today and met the Boogie Woogie Man. We hadn’t planned on going to the event, but the promoter talked us into getting tickets. I thought it would be fun for Pumpkin, so it wasn’t a hard sell.
I’m a poet and I didn’t know it! Yeah, I always hated that saying too.
I wanted to share a little contest that’s going on with my dear readers. You see, MyBlogLog is having a contest to see which blog can gain the most community members. There are some pretty awesome prizes at stake. But that’s not the contest I’m here to tell you about.
You see, this guy by the name of Joe is having a contest of his own to help him win the MyBlogLog contest. All you have to do is go join his communities, drop a comment on his blog, and you are entered to win $100. How easy is that? Plus, if you post about it on your blog (kinda like I’m doing here), you get 10 more entries.
So head on over and join for a chance to win some extra Christmas cash!
Back when I was working at the restaurant, they had a banquet to celebrate the record year they had last year. I didn’t get to go, but they saved me a goodie bag from it. The bag was a cute little beach tote, and inside it were some pens, cups, and other promotional stuff that companies had donated. There was one item that I couldn’t quite figure out at first glance, and it turned out to be a safety utility knife.
At first I considered giving it to Hubby, because I don’t use things like that very often. But one day I needed to make some price tags for some yard sale stuff, and it popped into my head.
I went and got it, and cutting up those spare labels was a breeze. It has a shield on it that covers the blade at all times except when you pull the trigger and press down on it, so I didn’t have to worry about getting cut when I put it down to do something else. I also don’t have to worry about accidentally leaving it laying around and Pumpkin getting ahold of it.
Now I use my knife every chance I get. I would love it if they came out with something like that for the kitchen…
With all of the stress I’ve been under lately, it has been hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Some days it just seems that there is nothing in life that is going right. But I’ve come up with something that I hope will put things into perspective at bit.
I don’t know exactly how often I’ll get around to doing this, but I’m going to write some posts about some of my favorite things. I’m going to aim for daily, but forgive me if I don’t quite make it.
There are a lot of things in the world that I like, it’s just easy to forget about them when there are so many negative things on my mind. Maybe this will force me to think about them.
There’s something hilarious about would-be criminals who make fools of themselves. It makes you want to say, “That’s what you get for trying to cheat your way through life instead of being a productive member of society!” Or something like that.
If you like dumb crooks, here’s a little treat for you: A Tribute to the Criminally Idiotic. It’s a post I did for Web TV Hub, with five videos of some of the dumbest criminals you’ll ever see. If you like it, it would be great if you could Digg it or Stumble it.
The Who has many fans, and I am one of them. I can’t claim to be their biggest fan, but I own their Greatest Hits and have seen Tommy live and in person. But I was a bit surprised to find out that they are also quite popular among the canine set.
I don’t know whether this pooch discovered the Who’s “Who Are You” by watching CSI or was a fan from the early years, but he sings along quite well for a dog, don’t you think? As I watch this, I can just hear what my grandmother’s reaction would be if she were still around today: “What kind of music is that? The dog sings better than they do.”
