Angel - That's a big part of why I share these things - to let others who are going through similar stuff know that they're not alone. That and to get it off my chest, of course.

Loretta - Yes, you definitely have to jump through a lot of hoops to get any help. But from what I've heard, the county I live in is better than most about getting things done in that department. I went through the same thing when I was pregnant with my daughter, only had to talk to a lot more people, and there were only one or two who were a bit snotty about it. And this time, everyone has been quite understanding and helpful so far. I guess maybe it's because the economy is in such sorry shape and they know how many people are having a hard time.

Thanks to both of you for the well wishes!

I know how hard it is to take that step to apply for public assistance. When we needed to at one point when our kids were very little we waited until the last possible moment we could. I didn't realize they were going to make me jump through hoops for two weeks to apply. It's hard enough in the first place, then they make you feel as if you don't deserve the help in a weird way. Our system is definitely in need of repair. Good luck with your appointments and I hope you get all the paperwork in order.

Hang in there. I can truly relate to what you're going through, same feeling different circumstances. I'm not sure of your faith, but my faith is in Christ Jesus/God and that combo has been my rock. Sometimes life throws curve balls our way that can truly knock us flat on our backs without it seeming that we'll get back up. But, from my mouth to your heart to God's ears - he knows how much we can bear. Know that you're not alone in your struggles. I pray God's favor on your life and your family. Keep moving forward, you still have a purpose to fulfill. Be blessed.

That sounds plausible, as we do have copper pipes. But we use well water, so there shouldn't be much chlorine in it. Then again, maybe it doesn't take much. I'm thinking about ordering some test strips to make sure everything is okay. Thanks for the info!

Hi, it's Copper Chloride leached from your Copper pipes by the Chlorine in your water supply. It is not thought to be harmful. You could get the water company to test your tap-water. In the meantime, if you are worried, run the tap for a minute or so before using it for drinking.

I give my 23month old a package of Emergen-C every morning.. its loaded with vitamins and vitamin C 1,000 mg there are different ones that you can chose. It really helps keep his immune system up and ours as well... we all drink it!.. you can find it at walmart for about $8 for a pack of 25 I think. Right now they are giving away free samples on their website... check it out. http://www.emergenc.com/
